Some of the best poutine I've had outside of Quebec. Chicken burger was great as well
It appears a lovely and elegant property but we didn't really enjoy our stay. When we arrived, there was no one at reception, we waited for about 10 mins until someone turned up. Then check-in time is 4.00pm (whilst every other hotel we stayed in can check-in at 2.00pm), we went out for a walk to kill some time. Finally we checked in but then the elevator didn't work, we waited another 5 mins inside the elevator until someone fixed it. Finally we came up to our floor with luggage, the corridors are spread out in 3 directions however there is no sign to indicate the way to our room? Finally we found our room, but the real nightmare started at night. The aircon is incredibly noisy, like an airplane, we couldn't sleep at night 2 nights in a row. The bed has a metal bedhead which I had never seen anywhere else, when we were turning and tossing during the sleepless night, it makes metal collision noise. Moreover, there is no room service unless being asked for it, well... Why I have to ask for the default service that I have paid for? If I don't want it, I will tell them, that's the way of how it works, isn't it? It's a quite expensive hotel, but we didn't enjoy anything in there apart from the location.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere with a bathtub. It is located a bit outside of downtown, but there are good food options within walking distance or a short drive away. The homemade cranberry white chocolate cookies are said to be delicious, although I didn't know about them until after my visit.
The Georgetown Pub in Canmore is a wonderful find. It transports you back to the golden days of mountain climbing in the Canadian Rockies. The reputation for the best Fish and Chips is well-deserved, and their Chicken sandwiches are fantastic. Although I only dined at the pub and did not stay overnight, I highly recommend visiting the Georgetown Pub. You are sure to have a great experience!
