We went time for our lunch in this restaurant. it is located in a shopping center, between carrefour and leroy merlin. the menu was different from the days with a good choice and it seems that it changes daily. eating was very good, easy...French cuisine but excellent. do not expect them to have a good meal, it is just a French bistro that serves meals at a reasonable price. I read the other comments about the service and the waiter and I don't understand. at the days when we visited the restaurant, it was completely full and I guess the people wouldn't come if the kitchen wasn't good. the same for the waiters, they did not stop running, but were very friendly and even if they were extremely busy, they took time to explain the different boards and even have few sweating with us. the same for the bartender who was boss, he welcomed us very nicely. it is a restaurant that I would go back and I will recommend.
We stopped at an extremely hot day in the juli in le cristal looking for a place to have a quick lunch as we had a very early start this day without time to breakfast. we both had the set three curs and lunch. it was just what we wanted to be authentic, simple, fast and tasty. I had eier mayonnaise, followed by simple grilled chicken with a huge buck of french beans that were perfectly prepared and therefore delicious. for pudding we both had the Crème-Brussels, the super-creamy and exceptionally tasty, still warm, with a beautiful bittersweet crispy toffeee that it was as good as anyone I ever had anywhere, even in five star hotels in paris! this is a great, unpredictable little place to lunch and the waitress was helpful and friendly and the service excellent. if they are in chartres and looking for lunch.... don't look anymore!

We stopped into Le Cristal on an extremely hot day in July, looking for a place to have a quick lunch as we'd had a very early start that day - without any time for breakfast. We both had the set three course lunch and it was exactly what we wanted - authentic, simple, quick and tasty. I had eggs mayonnaise, followed by simple grilled chicken with a huge mound of French beans which were perfectly prepared and therefore delicious. For pudding we both had the crème brulee, which was super-creamy and exceptionally delicious, still warm, with a lovely bittersweet crunchy toffee topping - it was as good as any I've ever had anywhere, even in five-star hotels in Paris! This is a great, unpretentious little place for lunch. And the waitress was helpful and friendly - and the service excellent. If you're in Chartres and looking for lunch.....look no further!
