The Wild Olive - Copeland

We have been to this restaurant quite a few times now when visiting the Lakes. The food is consistently excellent and the staff very attentive and friendly.

On a different night, we decided to try their takeaway service. We placed our order over the phone at 5:30pm and were told it would be ready by 7:40pm. Despite giving them 2 hours notice, when we arrived for pickup, our order had not even been started. We had to wait an additional half hour, and upon arriving home, we discovered one of the pizzas was incorrect. The food is decent, but the long wait times are not worth it. It seems they rely on the lack of competition in the area to survive.

We made a reservation for 4 adults and 2 dogs for the evening, as we had confirmed that they were allowed. We were initially seated outside while our table was being prepared. The waitress promptly took our drink and starter orders, and they arrived quickly and were delicious. However, after that, things took a turn for the worse. We waited for an hour before someone finally cleared our table and brought out our main dishes. We had to inquire about the delay, as other guests who arrived after us were already ordering and receiving their meals. While I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount of time, it felt like we were being ignored or forgotten. The staff were quick to bring the bill and request payment. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and had the potential to be much better.

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The staff were able to accommodate us without a reservation. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely fabulous Italian restaurant in Gosforth small but serving seriously good food amazingly good takeaway food! The staff are lovely a real credit to the owners chef! Would highly recommend
