Had a really great experience. The atmosphere was quiet yet very pleasant. The server was awesome and veryfriendly, she was the owners daughter. The owner came out and was very professional and highly enthusiastic about our visit. We will definitely be coming back.
What a joke...four of us arrived at the Cajun Cafe at noon, and it wasn't open. As we were leaving two of the employees showed up smiling and opened up. Now it's lunch time and no kitchen prep is done. No we didn't go in, and we won't be going back there again. Larry T.
Ordered take out for the wife and I. We both got a different Grouper entire. I had the Blackened Grouper Pontchartrain. The blackened grouper flavor was decent, the red beans were OVER salted. I tried the sausage separately and it was equally salty. The rice had uncooked crunchy bits in it. The spicy flavor of the beans was on point and could have really been a game changer if it weren't for the dominant flavor of salt. I'm from the south and can deal with a little more salt than most. No this time around!!!! I kept my expectations at bay so as not to judge too harshly. They could have done much better, with only 6 entries on the menu they should all be pleasing to the pallet.
Ordered the blackened Grouper Orleans. Extremely oily and the rice was severely undercooked. Every bite was oily and crunchy. Capers and tomatoes were large for this dish. Beignets tasted like they were cooked in old oil. They were chewy and doughy. Very disappointed. We really wanted to like this place. Close to home.
