A beautiful excursion destination is everything, with its open veranda towards the Emsstraße and the large cozy beer garden with Emsblick. In good weather you sit there under umbrellas and canopy; in bad weather you can also look from the friendly, bright guest room at the Ems and the Emsbrücke. During my rest here, during my great cycling tour, I could enjoy an apple spice cake with cream and a piece of cappuccino cake with a cup of coffee. This was calculated very cheaply for 6.90 euros. The service was also very attentive and very friendly. So I could recharge my strength and enjoy this rest. Although the cake offer was quite extensive and good, I would probably not be here for the cake offer. As far as I can judge, it was on average quality. But my quality ideas from the perfect (autumn) cake are very personal and are rarely accepted by the confectioner. From the big offer I would suspect that many guests only enjoy the cake here. Otherwise, the menu also offers an interesting offer of soups, salads, meat dishes and egg dishes at acceptable prices. From 17:00 there is a warm kitchen. At least from the beer garden you can reach the barrier-free spacious interiors steplessly. However, the name of the restaurant “Zum alte Ferryhaus” should not be misdirected; because the bridge at this point made the old ferry unnecessary. But a few kilometers south, in Listrup, there is still an active Emsfähre that can be used for a small Obolus over the Ems.
