This is my and my husband's new favorite breakfast spot by far!! My husband took me here the first time as a birthday surprise, hoping it would be good, but we didn't expect it to be THIS GOOD! Everything is homemade, super fresh, and delicious! Every bite we couldn't stop talking about how tasty everything was. We came back a second time today, and the staff had already remembered us, so you know they treat their customers like family. Everyone was so nice as well All I can say is we'll never be eating at Cracker Barrel again and Colonial cottage has two new customers for life! Can't wait to bring my friends and family here too! Thank you for such an enjoyable and delicious experience!
Great food and service. We went on a Sunday morning and it was busy but we were seated right away. Food and coffee were great and it was always a filled cup. Had the standard fare, eggs, bacon, gravy and biscuits which were all cooked perfectly. Had one Belgium waffle with strawberries. Waffle was light and strawberries were fresh. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Great place for breakfast if you are in the area.
Really wanted to like this place. I guess if you are a regular, you get better service. Stopped in for breakfast and the hostess was on the phone. No acknowledgement that we were there...hold up a finger or wave or something. Finally got done and I said 2 please. She looked at me like I had asked for her first born child. We were seated but the server was having an extended conversation with the couple at another table--not about the menu, just chitchat! Then she finally took their order and came by our table, I 'll be right with you. Should have taken the hint and left! Stuck it out though. DH got eggs, cottage fries, and bacon with pancakes. I got a waffle with strawberries. When the food came out, everything looked ok but you can 't judge temperature by looking. Waffle was tepid and had 4 strawberries on it. You pay extra for the fruit but you don 't get enough to justify the upcharge. Butter would not melt on the waffle or pancakes. To top it off, their coffee is bitter. Won 't go here again.
We were looking for a good spot to find breakfast, so we gave this place a try. First off it blends in so it doesn't seem like a huge big breakfast place. We walked in and we were greeted by a nice hostess. Then we were seated at our table, and given a menu. I ended up ordering french toast, which came with 3 slices. Our waitress was VERY nice and she always checked in on us brought us some more water. I am EXTREMELY satisfied and would definitely recommend. They also have Northern Kentucky's best fried chicken. A member of our group got it and enjoyed it.
