Wonderful environment consistently delicious delicacies wonderfully presented feels breakfast you will find in an English holiday home very hospitable loving to home very good value for money a special experience happy again
Unfortunately, our experience was not so overwhelming. we were with several people in the bistro olive. we all decided for a menue. the fishmenue was ordered once and the rest of us had a menue with bark meat. first, some wanted to replace the kressesuppe with the cockroach soup. that was not desired to us, because there was not enough crawling soup, which was strange, what if all 6 people had the fishmenue whacked? Unfortunately, the soup didn't taste us at all. the bark was very duennial cut, zaeh and with much too much rugged butter that we could no longer perceive the own taste of the meat. the fish stank after fish. no sign of freshness. the best was actually just the brot, the olivenoel and the sea salt. the chef also came later and wanted to entertain us. was nice, but he seemed very careless. the price-performance ratio is not true at all. one probably pays for the ambiente and the tourist place freinsheim. rarely eaten so badly.
We were booked for dinner at our hotel (the kitchen was closed) and what a happy night that was. To celebrate my mother's birthday, we have a special dinner in our head, and it turned out to be a very special meal in fact. From the beginning with a beautiful aperitif and appetizer of a dozen escargot with a herby/garlicky 'finger lick' butter and a brown shrimp soup to a lend winter cod and a perfect steak, followed by a beautiful cheese and an absolutely perfect red grape, this was a meal for the coming days to dream. We had some beautiful local wines and a pear Williams eau de vie to round the dinner. If you are somewhere near Freinsheim, it is very advisable to make reservations the day menu should you will not be disappointed
