"Yes, it's cheap. Compare it to fine burger restaurants in Switzerland like Holycow and others, the Café Populaire is cheap. On Monday and Tuesday evening, you get any meal for CHF and a beer for CHF. Otherwise the average price is CHF...for a great meal and a drink. Other than that, the service is really attentive and friendly. It's not high-class, it's friendly. Expect smiles, advice, suggestions. You'd better book in advance if you're planning lunch or dinner with more than one person. Sadly you have to pay with cash only. This is a very negative point in my opinion considering Fribourg is one of the rare places around Europe where you can't pay with a card in so many restaurants. I don't think there is any justification to this since business seems to roll for the Populaire. I hope to see this changed soon. Enjoy an amazing burger or sandwich at Café Populaire!"
