The food is prepared in a traditional way in a wood oven and you can taste that there is a lot of love in it. They make their own rolls and croissants and there is a different menu every day. My favorites were “Octopus Stiffado”, “Cheese cake with apricot jam” and the “Papa Cocktail”. The wonderful garden has breathtaking sea views and offers enough space for every single table. Always a fixture for us when we are on Samos!
Amazing place, very kind team, delicious food (which could have been cooked by our dear aunt) with pure and local ingredients, awesome view of the open Aegean and an amazing service... We had the pleasure of staying a few days in one of the maisonettes on the property and ate breakfast and dinner here everyday. The service was wonderful and truly makes you feel like you are feasting in a garden among family. The quality of the food is by far some of the best home style cooking I have ever had the opportunity to eat! I am so thankful that we were able to discover this beautiful gem of a restaurant and get to know the kind and generous family who runs it. I will definitely be back for a visit and still dream of those perfect croissants! You will not be disappointed! Also I have been attempting to add photos of the beautiful food here but Google keeps saying they are violating some sort of policy. Unfortunate since the croissants look like heaven on a plate!
The best part of our entire stay was the Loukoulos. We slept in the apartments and ate at Loukoulos almost every day. The food is incredibly tasty and varied, the meat is very tender, the vegetables are cooked to perfection and you can tell that the special taste does not come from lots of spices, but from high-quality, sun-ripened ingredients. The two owners do a lot of things themselves (delicious bread from the wood-fired oven, perfect croissants, but also everything else like the garden, walls and furniture, which creates the unique charm) and are so approachable and loving towards their guests that after a week it's already nice feels like home. The ambience is fantastic, the view of the bay from the elevated position on the cliffs is beautiful and the whole property looks mega idyllic thanks to olive and pomegranate trees, cleverly positioned plants for sun protection, access to the beach via a staircase and the peace and quiet radiate to all the people there.
Who doesn't look for a restaurant where cooking is done with love? Where the food tastes like “at mother’s home”? You don't have to look long here. Here you will find exactly that: Greek dishes that everyone knows, but that taste better than anywhere else. Why? Because hospitality and a passion for food are lived here. We ate at Loukoulos two evenings in a row: tried moussaka, pastitio, stifado, farmer's salad and tzatziki. Everything was fantastic! We'll definitely be back!
