Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe had the mid priced set menu (not the cheapest, not the most expensive) and all felt we had a first rate dinner. The chef asked us afterwards how we had enjoyed ourselves. It was easy to be positive! We were 2 couples and we felt there was sufficient choice on the menu. We were there on a Saturday in June and it was comfortably busy rather than full. Service was competent rather than OTT. Highly recommended.
Finding Les Platanes de Chenas takes a little effort but it will be well rewarded when you get there. A dining room with a stunning view over the Beaujolais vineyards is only the start. The menu is just excellent, service is professional and pleasant, and the wine list is what you'd expect. We had an amuse bouche of creme brulee with fois gras an unusual combination on paper but excellent in actuality. Starters of chestnut soup, lobster, and rabbit terraine were all very good as were the mains of char, steak, and lamb. Cheese was very good too with a special mention for the camembert with pepper. Desserts were good too. And the bill was EUR230 for 4, including two bottles of excellent local wine and two bottles of water. Worth a visit if you are in the locality.
Terrasse magnifique, personnel très sympathique, menus excellents, what else?
