We've loved our neighborhood Sushi restaurant, Kurata, for years and go as often as possible. Tonight topped it all! For the first time, I had the rainbow roll, a California roll with SEVEN kinds of fish. It was simple spectacular; the best sushi I've ever had... anywhere. The couple who run it are sweet, gentle and the service is always excellent. Highly recommended!
My son attends college near by so we took him out to dinner here! Such a quiant spot. The Owners run it and the food is great! My son is taking Japanese so he was able to have a chat with the owner!
Very cute small place run my a husband and wife team. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the intimacy of the venue. It's a small menu which concentrates on quality over quantity. Everything was delicious, especially the miso soup.
Kurata has been on my list for years, but for whatever reason (it was closed, we decided to go elsewhere, it was too full) we weren't able to go until now. I'm so glad I got to finally dine here! I've been telling everyone about it because we don't hate keep. One of my fav sushi places now~ This cute restaurant is run by an older Japanese couple the wife is the host and the husband is the sushi chef. The capacity is limited to 6 8 tables that hold about 4 5 people so expect that when it's busy you'll have to wait. It's on a quiet side street, ny a Safeway, which has quite a bit of parking in front of the entry as well as on the street. They have simple fresh rolls that you can order off the menu a la carte. I think all of the rolls were equally delicious: Creamy scallop gunkan Alaska roll Spider roll Spicy tuna Shrimp tempura roll I can't remember but I believe you have to order miso soup separately. Enjoy conversation while you wait, and have a nice date night or dinner with friends.
