Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónLe retro is an invisible restaurant on the corner of a busy road. eating is easy, but good and the service is very friendly.
Unpromising at first sight ordinary bar with pretty creepy man behind him in a boring street, but I pressed on how the place was warmly recommended by the staff in my hotel. I was glad I did. the food was good. I started with a good home made pate de fois gras with a cowardly componote that the charming and rather jolly patronne assured me that she made herself. then a very good steactare with the steak chopped (or how the English menu it had) instead of reduced; and with many caps and good chips. at last a lemon sorbet that was just a little too mad. madame had recommended a light sweet wein to accompany the Fois grass that was a great idea; and a bottle of quite acceptable merlot appeared in reaction to my request for a half bottle, with the comment that I could just pay for as much as I could drink! price not cheap, but not blackmail.
With 3 hours in laon to save a long cozy lunch, I was past several empty restaurants until I found this little gem. a plated du jour of kebab huhn with a curry sauce and rice went very well. by a caffe gourmand. this place has good employees and a owner who speaks English
Loved the hostess, good eating especially the chicken curry and ice cream. like all other restaurants in laon not too cheap, but we spent a pleasant evening with the family.
