1806 Cafe' Di Mirko Ditaranto - MATERA

1806 is one of the best bars I have been in a long time a Hidden Gem in Matera city. I was looking for a bar to have a couple of drinks before dinner in old Matera city. I walked into 1806 the first bar in Matera coming out of the old city. I was happily surprised to find out that the 1806 was a traditional bar where someone can have any type of drinks and cocktails! Warm environment with friendly lovely people who will help you choose the right cocktail for you... Just let them know your favorite drinks and they will mix it for you.

I love this place! There’s always a great atmosphere and often live music too! Really recommend the aperitivo loads of great nibbles! The cocktails are impressive too. All in all, one the best, simple, unpretentious bars in Matera. Go! It’s a great place to meet some locals too!

We stopped here for a quick bite for lunch in this quiet cafe on Lucana Street just outside the Sassi Cavenos. Excellent vegan focaccia sandwich, freshly made with aubergine, courgette, tomato, rocket and hummus. Draught lager too. Helpful service.

The first place where I sat down to get a gin tonic. friendly and friendly staff, great music, and great cocktails. If you want to relax a little away from the chaos of local qst stones, go to your case. very recommended... also because it is almost at the entrance of the stones!
