Taco John's - Mountain Home

This place hasn't been remodeled in a long time but don't let it fool you, the food and service are pretty good! My favorite item is the chicken street tacos. Always good and fresh! Service is always pleasant and the place is kept clean. I also like the potato olés. Decent Mexican fast food place in downtown Mountain Home!

I just went into my local Taco Johns and ordered a quesadilla taco meal with a water to drink and mild sauce on the side. I received sweet tea and hot sauce instead of the latter. And I found a piece of paper inside one of my quesadilla tacos melted to the cheese.

I'm seriously sick of how cheep this place is. My family has eaten here for as long as I can remember. Love the owners and the food but if you want hot sauce or napkins with your food TOGO ya better ask. Not only did they not give a single napkin and only 3 packs of sauce with our order of 10 tacos and 10 burritos TOGO. BUT! They also tried to charge me $4 for a drink because they were almost out of the product ????? What?! Or they would charge me for a small but without ice.... ????? What?! How about you give me the drink at the normal price and say sold out when it's gone. And how about you give me a pack of sauce for each item I ordered. Hey! How about a napkin since this is to go and you don't know where... maybe I'm a messy eater and can only sit in my car this evening..... I mean come on. Not asking for the moon Mr.Johns.

This location used to be super good. It's just gone down hill probably in the past year. At one point they had to keep the inside closed and it was only drive thru (this was in 2020). I went to get food and was the only person in the drive thru...they still made me pull up and wait around 7 min for my food. And within that time only 1 other person came and got their food before I did. I ordered a quesadilla and potato oles. Even without the wait, every time I get a bean burrito it is not hot, barely warm, and there is dried beans all around like it had been sitting for hours. I've tried and tried to give this place multiple chances but it's just disappointing every time. I've also had not so great experiences with the staff, and no I wasn't mean--I work retail so I know what it's like, yet they had an attitude from the get go.

First time here and it was GREAT! Everyone was so nice and cheerful. The prickly pear drink was delicious and I love the Potato O-lé 's. Some outdoor seating because I brought my little doggie and they even have dog treats for your little fur baby! Next to train tracks which made my son very happy because he could see the trains go by while we ate. He is a picky eater and he actually ate the chicken from the kids meal. I will be back again with my family. Please try this food.
