Came here a few times over the past year or so and it never disappoints! It's located in a small building right on the side of Chef Menteur Highway. This building has always been switching owners and hosting different kinds of foods. The last two cuisines were Mexican and they were pretty good, but I guess business was not consistent. Looks like T&L is doing pretty well and is here to stay! The place is a little small with a few tables but definitely enough room to chow down on some good food! What I expected of this place was just another po boy joint with just the usual po boys and platters, but they actually have some unique things on the menu. Over the past few visits, I have ordered the Kimchi Fries, Philly Cheese Steak Po Boy, Fried Shrimp Po Boy, and the T&L Ultimate Burger. Everything was great, but I'm addicted to their Kimchi Fries and T&L Ultimate Burger! Even though I wanted to try their whole menu, I can't deviate from my usual order of the fries and burger. You would think the Kimchi Fries would just be a small order, but they definitely hook you up! There's enough for a whole meal for 1 or 2 people! The Ultimate Burger is absolutely amazing. I don't normally order burgers at po boy places, but I had to try it when I heard what was in it! It has sesame buns, a beef patty, a hot sausage patty, some bacon, a fried egg, and dressed how you like it. You'd probably get full from half of the burger, but it's so good that you'd most likely finish the whole thing with no regrets! Overall, great little po boy shop for some great food! Go a little crazy with their large menu and leave happy. Check them out!
The kimchi fries were disappointing, but the burger was decent. It took 25 minutes to receive two burgers and the kimchi fries.
My wife and I were bike touring and we stopped for the best and biggest hamburger that I had in a long time .The owners were so nice to talk to us about the area and Lou even gave us a complimentary bottle of water to be nice.I wish we lived closer to visit often for the great food.
I almost didn't go to this restaurant because of its exterior, but I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere inside. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's worth noting that the food is made fresh to order, so expect a 5-10 minute wait (calling ahead is a good idea if you're in a hurry). I enjoyed the Philly po boy plate, which came with a well-dressed sandwich filled with sautéed peppers, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and a generous portion of meat on a delicious French bread. The meal also included a large serving of fries that could easily feed two people, along with a canned drink, all for less than $10. This restaurant is a great option for a tasty and filling lunch at a reasonable price.
