Nothing specific but it had the air of first job out of school with the wait staff! However the most annoying thing was the staff member doing laptop admin, taking and making phone calls and listening to answerphone messages all on speakerphone while sat at a table about 5 yards from us...surely there 's an office or you could invest in a headset so we don 't hear every conversation! Most disrupting during an otherwise peaceful lunch!
We booked a meal here very last minute as our usual favourite place was fully booked. What a wonderful find, the whole evening was lovely, there was a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere with fantastic service. There are a variety of meals to suit all on the menu, I had the the pan fried salmon which was excellent and beautifully plated, my husband had cod which was all homemade and again beautiful. The cod was a massive portion but they do half size meals too. The puddings were also lovely. I would highly recommend food here, we will definitely be returning very soon, there’s walkers lunch that we are keen to try.
My Wife, our two friends, myself and our three dogs called in for a Birthday lunch, we were not disappointed! Fantastic food, generous portions, great service and a really nice atmosphere, do you need anything else? This is a wonderful Inn and restaurant and we are so glad we visited.
Sadly this was the second visit that I bought my family to enjoy an evening out. We waited for menus..asked for menus and yet the waitress came to the table and asked us all if we were ready to order..we all looked at her shocked as we had no menu... As our last visit the fish n chips were greasy..very..and the oil tasted dirty.. The sole that came out was expensive for a piece of fish with crayfish and sauce £23 and no veg..no potatoes..which was abit strange and not on really.. Also the puddings were over microwaved and well not great.. We asked for water for the table.. twice and that didn't come out.. This little gem of a pub seems to have gone down hill quite alot lately and does seem to be the same opinion from many locals here in Freshwater.. really sad the owners seem to think the standards are being kept but they are not.. We won't be going back tbh...nor will our family members after a very expensive unsatisfactory meal..
Unable to fault this hidden little gem quality and preparation was top notch. Make sure book in advance as this place is very popular with local and tourists
