Coyote Flaco Poughkeepsie

No better place in Poughkeepsie. Not just the best Mexican restaurant, the best place overall. It's a family business and they treat you like family when you're there. The food is really phenomenal and the people just make it that much better. If you haven't been yet, go. And make sure you order a pitcher of house margaritas, you will be happy you did. I won't make any specific food suggestions because honestly I haven't had a bad menu item yet, and we go every Thursday for dinner and drinks. I love this place!

Although I have not been impressed by the other locations, my fiance and I LOVE this one on salt point turnpike! The food is superb the wait staff is pretty good. (They 've only been open for a couple of months, so the waiters are still learning things but still very polite and attentive. I had the beef fajitas meat was tender and the sauce it was cooked in was very flavorful. My fiance had the 'arrachera ' (hangar steak and was very pleased with his meal as well. The owners son came and introduced himself and was very nice I had a question about a combination fajitas and why they didn 't have it on the menu. He said that if we ever wanted something that wasn 't on the menu, to just ask there is RARELY anything the kitchen would not make upon special request (I was very pleased to hear this as I am kind of a picky eater! This will definitely be our new Mexican restaurant go to place! Edit: the margaritas are FABULOUS!!!

I read the reviews before we went, and I should have ignored them. Omg!!!! The food was fabulous. I lived in Texas for 6 years, and there are A LOT of Mexican places to choose from. This place would survive even in that market. We opened up to the wait staff, and they were so warm, and inviting. The owner was even out in the dining room making sure the customers were taken care of. Maybe getting a bad review was q good thing. Whatever problems were found have certainly been worked out. We got our food so quickly, and it was absolutely the best Mexican I have come across since being back in ny. Yum! Yum! We will be back. Thanks for a great night.

My friends and I went to this place on a whim and ended up enjoying every delicious bite of our food! I have always considered myself a bit of a Mexican food snob, but this place 's guacamole, salsa, Shrimp 'Diablo ', and Enchiladas Suizas lived up to my expectations. I used to frequent their Verbank location, but since they have moved to this new location in Poughkeepsie, I find their food to be much improved. I say ignore all of the other mediocre reviews and give this place a shot!

I really thought the food was excellent. Their homemade salsas and hot sauces are amazing. There is a free salad bar. The staff and owner were so friendly and accommodating that I felt like I was at their home having dinner. I highly recommend that people give this place a shot! I'm glad I did!
