Food and service always excellent. Restaurant clean....what could you ask more?

In an almost empty restaurant with the few tables of elderly people. There were 4 of us, but my partner and I came early to get an appetizer while we waited because we were hungry, we were told that it was social policy not to sit until our full party came, which is understandable, in a really busy restaurant. My partner and I have both years of experience in the food industry, but the fact that they don't even let us sit for a table of 2. Really?? Just don't try to earn money as a server or as a company? It wasn't busy at all. Not under servants. We were welcomed by 4 people behind the counter. It didn't make any sense at all. No Leeway? My partner has grown up here for years and we drove 8 hours to eat here with her family. Both were really disappointed with this interaction.

No disappointments at all! Relaxed, homey atmosphere. Huge, varied menu. Prompt, very friendly service. Our dinners were delicious. (Stuffed haddock with 2 sides) The place was clean, and everything smelled great. We will return. (90 min drive for us too)
