The Royal - Runswick

I came here last week to get some food as it has been reviewed a lot as a good place so I came to try and it has been possibly one of the worst places I have ever been to get food the chicken burgers contained lots of gray hairs and some of the waiters there were awfully rude to me and my boyfriend especially one waiter I remember who was called Alfie day he was an awful waiter and should be sacked immediately the fish and chips were awful as well the chips were soggy my boyfriend was having none of it he left and I was furious I will never be coming here again hope Alfie gets sacked and I hope his Johnson gets leaked in the work group chat Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1

Staying in Runswick for the weekend. Been to the Royal loads of times over the years. Friday night was great. Service very good and food great. Really enjoyed it, left us looking forward to another good night. Left a good tip, it was worth it. Sat night, service none existent (different staff) other than to conclude the best description would be it was rude. Only wanted a drink and desert but was refused with no explanation. Pretty poor. Seems to be run by younger staff with little training or a little knowledge of how to serve. So based on this weekend it could only be described as hit and miss. Based on Friday nights experience we will no doubt try again another time in the hope the owners make some basic improvements. Service: 3 Location: 5

Place was amazing enjoyed the few nights I was there, although when I was there I was unfortunately met with the sheer discust when I went for a meal and saw the waiter going by Alfie picking chips off my nefues plate and dribbling in my brothers drink it was so unprofessional and unexceptable I had to leave, definitely will not be coming back Rooms: Rooms were good Rooms: 4 Service: 2 Location: 3 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly

The food was absolutely fantastic and the location was absolutely beautiful however not too happy about some of the workers there. This one youngling wearing glasses going by the name Alfie was extremely rude and was caught picking at my sons chips and kept dribbling over my drink. It’s just not on. There was also a gentlemen at the table across from me flirting with a waitress and slobering down brownies what I found pretty disgusting. Rooms: 4 Service: 1 Location: 3 Hotel highlights: Quiet
