We arrived very early for dinner, but our host Sophie was very welcoming and allowed us to sit on the terrace and order drinks. The food was fresh, delicious and very full and the drinks were also brilliant! Compliments to the boss, Sophie and Staff!... Best wishes Drew, Michelle, Siana Alexia xo
Lunch Plat de Jour is a good value, really delicious and beautifully served. The outdoor area is over the street from the restaurant and overlooks the port. It has transparent wind breaks, and a screen to provide shade. Worth a visit.
We ate at Le Corsaire three times in the space of 10 days! It 's a small, basic seafood restaurant with a large outdoor terrace overlooking the marina, if the weather is good enough. As usual, we chose from the basic 'Authentique ' menu, at €15 which...offered a filling, good value, simple meal. Our favourites were fish soup, served beautifully hot, and marinated mackerel for starters, followed by excellent moules marinieres and frites. By dessert, a choice of very good quality ice creams was all we could manage and 3 balls, at that! With many French customers visiting each night, it is clear that Le Corsaire have the right formula.
The visit, from my husband and me, to this charming little restaurant, took place a year and a half ago, and yet it remains alive in our memories, and our taste buds, so that should tell you how good it was, and, I am...safe, still is! It was our 3rd wedding anniversary and we had booked a restaurant in a completely different city, a rather tasty restaurant for this evening! But we landed in St. Valery much later when we planned, by total misplanning on my part! Don't worry, I won't bore you with the details, enough to say that we somehow fell in love with the place! So I rebooked the other restaurant for the next day and we walked over the port. Our feet brought us to the veranda of Le Corsaire, and the joyful atmosphere that came out of the place pulled us in! My eyes were immediately drawn to the Moules frites on the menu, and my husband had a fish frites . The Moules Marinières left a lasting memory on my palate, and my husband flew into his fis-frites meal with the same Gusto! I can't remember what I had for dessert as I was under the spell of my main dish, but my husband had an ice cream he enjoyed very much. The wine that accompanied the meal was of a very good quality, and the overall bill so reasonable that it was, good the icing on the cake!
