Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónDelicious food and deserving of the high rated feedback. We were lucky enough to sit by the window and watch the sun set, whilst enjoying our meal befitting of the restaurant name. We dined with our 3 children and enjoyed the 3 course menu whilst our children chose the kids menu. Food was delicious, locally sourced and innovative, and by far the best meal we had on the island. The kids’ stand out dish was the fish and chips, actually the highlight were the chips, they were perfect, crispy and golden. We would have all been happy to have the kids fish and chips but would have missed out on the other meal highlights including scallops with cauliflower, currants and pistachio dressing and lamb with turnips. Whilst we enjoyed our meal, the one point to call out is that the bread whilst delicious and is a thick slice of freshly baked sourdough comes at a cost of $5 p/p. It is written on the menu albeit under the second entree so we assumed it related to that item only. We probably would have ordered 2 slices anyway as we love to try freshly baked baked but wanted other diners to be aware and avoid the shock of receiving a bill of $25 for 5 slices of bread.
The evening started well with warm welcome from staff and time to enjoy a magnificent sunset. We opted for the feed me menu and it was fabulous. Highlights include the smoked barramundi rillettes, scallops and the ice cream slice for dessert. The wine list was good too including some good quality local wines by the glass. Make sure you check what tome sunset is before you book so you don’t miss it. Just a short drive from Penneshaw.
Today we were treated to a 5 star dining experience at this fabulous restaurant. A lovely ambience with a killer view. Attentive and gracious wait staff. A complex and perfectily executed tasting menu that was so surprising in such a remote community. Fresh and delicious. So many interesting elements in each dish. Exciting flavours. An extra star for the house made bread. This is truly affordable fine dining, the likes of which we would pay twice the price in Melbourne... well done team. you are to be commended, thank you. What a wonderful experience! Visited with friends for lunch. We had the feed me menu. Every course was divine! Delicious, artistic and creative. Great service, i wonderful time had. Recommend for any foodie to enjoy!
We booked for dinner and when we arrived we were asked if we wanted to be on the terrace or inside. The staff girl who seems to speak spanish told us flatly that if we wanted to be outside, then we could not change inside if we change our mind. Inside we had a table at the back, with no view. We asked if we could sit at another table closer to the terrace with a view and she said no (when all the tables were empty). We decided to sit outside to see the sunset, but the evening became unpleasant because we had to eat a long menu with 14 degrees. We watched as other people (which was outside with us) were given the opportunity to change inside but that option was not granted to us. Then another girl from the staff very kindly asked us if we wanted to change places and go inside, but we had almost finished our dinner. What I am saying is that we were treated badly as soon as we arrived warning us that we could not go in if we wanted to change, when in fact the rest of the diners were given the opportunity to go in. The way she said it was very blunt and I don't think that is the way to treat a customer once they arrive to the restaurant. In a restaurant were the main attractive is the sunset view you should expect that customers might want to have views…The rest of the staff was very friendly, so except for the negative reception the rest was ok.
