Char grilled, extra salad and garlic sauce to put Istanbul to shame. Spotless premises, lovely owners, truly beutiful food. A diamond establishment well worth a visit...the traditional fish and chips rule. I Harry's
Despite passing by several other eateries on my way home, I decided to give Harry's another chance since it is my local spot. I wanted to offer some friendly feedback, so I made sure none of the dishes contained pork and mentioned that the sausage did not suit my taste. However, Harry appeared offended and unhelpful. As I observed him handling my order, I became convinced that he tampered with my food while preparing it in the kitchen. Furthermore, his colleagues seemed to be taunting me and making fun of the situation. When I questioned Harry about this, he became rude and dismissed my concerns as nonsense. He even refused to give me a refund, leaving me feeling outraged. The overall cleanliness of the establishment was lacking, and the staff's appearance was unprofessional. In conclusion, my experience at Harry's was disappointing and frustrating. I would not recommend dining there again.
Since it is just down the road from us, my partner and I have visited Harry's semi-regularly since moving to Sheffield. We started off on their pizzas: Luciano's down the road offers better quality, but if you are on a budget and want a lot of food Harry's meal deals are pretty good value and perfectly acceptable. Kebabs are where they thrive though: far nicer than your average kebab shop kebab 99% of the time. The salad and sauces all come at no extra cost, and the already good value-for-money meal is only a tad more expensive with some pizza cheese on top. I would avoid the chips though. I had heard that they prefer them soggy up north, but when I sampled them they were truly revolting to eat. I cannot comment on the fish, but the sausage was not great either. Cheapest thing on the menu, yes, but do yourself a favour and get either a pizza or a kebab: you will enjoy it more.
This chip shop is very disappointing. It seems like they don't wash the potatoes before frying them, and the fish is old and not appetizing. I don't like the donner kebab either, as it is poor quality and seems to contain chicken mixed in with the kebab meat. The kebab meat from Sultan Kebab Meat Company is not up to par and has a bad taste. The best option is Istanbul Kebab Meat Company, as their quality is good and they do not falsely claim to sell halal meat.
Got fish n chips from here lots of times. Very good. The homemade tomato chilli sauce is very very good. Friendly staff. Decent portions.
