Cool place, decorations were great! There was a Grinch walking around which was fun.Food was excellent, drinks delicious. We thought the service would be better since you have to pay to have the reservation. Our server was scarce mostly but that's how things are these days. Also, the only napkins they had were cocktail napkins and they ran out of plates. So when we ordered appetizers, six people had to eat off of the cocktail napkins. Weird
Value- great- the reservation is worth it. No wait got seated immediately. We were a party of 8. Food and drinks priced as you would expect at Ballpark village. Parking-easy- they validate your parking. Plenty of parking. We were down the night of the Mizzou/Illini game. No problems finding parking. Venue-great- decor amazing for Christmas. The Grinch was fun to interact with. The place was not over booked and packed. We were not crowded and smashed in. It was great. Our table was big enough for drinks and food plates. Food and Drinks-great- The themed drinks were delicious and everyone found something they liked. No draft but bottles if you wanted that. Food was more like a mini meal. A little hard to share. Appetizers would have been a little better. Charcuterie board, cheese ball crackers, but what we did order was delicious and came out quick. Server-Darnell was our server and he was AMAZING!!! He was so sweet and had a great additude. Answered all our questions about drinks and food. Kept all the drinks and food rolling. He really made the whole experience wonderful! 2 hour time- I think the 2 hour limit was perfect. Darnell was always there when we were ready to get another round and we ordered food several times and had plenty of time to eat and drink. We never felt rushed. Overall great event and will definitely look for it next year!!!
Food was terrible and waitress was so busy we basically never saw her.
My mom and I went to Tinsel Tavern as we both love christmas and were very excited. We were expecting to pay a fair bit more than a normal bar as expected, however we were suprised at how expensive everything was for what we got. We got the buffalo chicken dip, which was good but came with too few and overcooked chips, we got the maple bacon churros which were just frozen churros with syrup and bacon bits on top for $12 for 2 split in half to make 4 , and the drinks were veeeery strong. I actually asked our server to check with the bartender to make a drink less strong and the bartender proceeded to very loudly declare that is how she made her drinks and to deal with it. The first drink I ordered was also eggnog based which did not say on the menu. Overall, our server was great and it was super cute, but we spent $80 after tip for two drinks and two appetizers, not including the $22 cover to get in and place our reservation. NOT worth your money.
