The service and atmosphere were warm and very welcoming (and fast as well). The food was absolutely delicious (we had salmon soup) and accommodation clean and cozy. The beds were comfy and rooms simple but spacious. They have all kinds of cool little huts which to choose from, we stayed in one of the basic ones. The garden with it's own little beach was beautiful and perfect for a little morning walk. I could not be happier with our spontaneous visit here and I can't recommend this place enough! If you're around the area DO NOT MISS IT!ps. Make sure to try Kaarina's famous mustard :-)
After a lousy breakfast at the Port Arthur Cafe, Fish Lips was what I needed for a late lunch. This was one of the two places that were still open after I finished Port Arthur and I got lucky. My husband and I arrived around 4pm and the Finnish owner was too kind to keep the cafe open for us. The view was excellent. The kitchen was already closed so I could only order simpler food but the salmon salad with homemade dressing was yummy. The mustard tasted fantastic. It was a simple meal but everything was well made. I will definitely swing by if I go to Port Arthur again during summer. The environment just reminds me of Europe. Would love to try the cottage next time.
We stopped over here while sailing Tasmania on our boat to find somewhere for lunch. We called the Norfolk Bay Convict Station which we thought had a restaurant and bar, but it turned out that they only do breakfast. I asked about Lio Fish and they advised that it was very casual and hit and miss and we should go to The Fat Quoll Woodfired Pizza. Called them and they were closed for refurb, (thank God. Seemy review on them)but opened the next day. So we decided to give Fish Lips a try. What a delight. The menu is not comprehensive but the food, service and atmosphere is wonderful. Our host Kaarina is a delight and she makes the best Honk Mustard. We bought a jar and had it with dinner and went back the next day and bought 3 more. This place is a must if you're in the area. Thanks Kaarina for a lovely experience
The lunch was excellent on the terrace with , beautiful view. Really calm, and the service was perfect. Great value for money.
Pulled in for a quick bite and found the venue inviting, friendly and had a very organised calm feel. Food was served promptly. Extra large coffee as a standard was great! Licensed with local wines and handmade candles and soaps; all good aromas!
