I don't get how someone can mess up a burrito. There was hardly any chicken in mine and the chicken there was in there was chewy. The hot sauce was very pedestrian and despite being heated twice, the tortilla was ice cold in places. Never again.
Went to Z-Teca on King St in Toronto Jun 1 2015. It is a Mexican fast food restaurant that was recommended by someone we know in the area. You have to get over the initial shock of the appearance of the restaurant. It is as stark and industrial looking as can be. The chairs are made of thick coated plywood. There were long benches like a prison cafeteria for larger groups. The menu is simple with quaesedillas , burritos and tacos. We had a chicken quaesedilla and burrito. Both were freshly prepared and tasted good. The disturbing part was the clever sparrow that flew in the wide open front door and helped himself to whatever he could find, then went back outside. This happened several times during our meal. I am sure there must be rules against having wild birds flying around restaurants. Overall I would give it a pass as long as the front door was closed.
Love it. Just love it. Friendly staff. Quick service. Good selection of meats (and non-meats), salsas and toppings. Everything is fresh. Price is reasonable ($10 tax included for a fair sized burrito). They can also make any burrito into a salad for people who are taco-shell-averse (or just want a salad).I eat here at least once/week and food is consistent. Never been disappointed and highly recommend it.
My second visit at the Fairview mall location. Delicious fish tacos months ago. This time opted for shrimp burrito. Fresh, tasty ingredients! Great ambiance and decor. Will be back!
