Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónMy friends and I had one goal in mind on Sunday morning: to drink bottomless mimosas somewhere. There are a number of options in DC, but we chose 18th Amendment offered different types of mimosa mixes and a location on Capitol Hill. The normal mimosa was definitely the best, as they used a very fresh orange juice as the base. The other fruit flavors were hit or miss. Many of the drinks didn’t mix well since the fruit portion of the drink would sink to the bottom (pear, strawberry, passion fruit), but some of them tended to mix in better (guava). I ate a breakfast sandwich, which had excellent and super crispy bacon (it better be, since it cost 4 dollars to add in). The service was way better than expected, as the waitress came by often and delivered mimosas quickly. In a span of about 1.25 hours, I had 7 mimosas; I thought I would get 4 at most. Now if only the burger place nearby was open on Sunday’s. Oh well.
Oh Hai! Secret LSU/Saints bar in DC? Yes, please. It's always a good feeling to walk in here and see purple and gold all over on a Saturday. Good to see the black and gold on a Sunday too. Not to mention the ample supply of Abita beers ranging from seasonal to the usual Purple Haze. Want some food? CHECK! They have some great Louisiana food as well. Po-Boys and Jambalaya as well as others but those stick out the most. The wings are pretty tasty as well. The secret spot is the basement dive. Head down there when the upstairs is overrun with strangers you do not enjoy and want to drink with your friends in seclusion. It's dark, dirty and kinda sketchy looking but good times are to be had. Also, it seems like people actually want to talk to strangers here. Maybe it's b/c us Louisianians tend to come here in secrecy and not tell anybody where we're from : Either way, check it out for some social times as well as good food and brew. Don't forget to tip your waitress!...server...it's 2012. They're called servers.
Best place around DC for Saints fans to watch games.
