It seemed that several other customers sitting near us were frustrated too. The food when it came wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. Shame as restaurant is in a lovely location and looks nice. I wouldn’t go back until the reviews are consistently good. Unfortunately I would not recommend the place anymore.
What a lovely day to sit on the terrace outside this lovely hotel and admire the pond view. The service was attentive friendly. Our Fish chips Cajun Chicken burger with chips were delicious. Washed down with a cold alcoholic beverage. The CV19 rules were well applied I felt very safe. This was the first time my husband had eaten out post lockdown. It was a positive experience a real treat.
Family lunch on the hottest day of the year. The service was faultless and the food great. The Club Sandwich is one of the best we've had ever! The hotel grounds are well maintained and perfect for kids to play around. A few more beers and ales to choose from would be even better, as only 2 lagers were available.
The four of us had dinner here at a table looking out to the large lake.superb setting. we all had ribeye steaks funny enough so cant say what else was nice. the steak was really nice. dessert was mixed with a sticky toffee pudding, panecotta with fruit and 2 of us had banoffee pie with black yes black coconut ice cream....mmmm really nice place with food to match
A business lunch in a hotel restaurant (not much atmosphere) but where staff were attentive but not intrusive. The service was efficient and friendly. The bread rolls were warmed, a nice touch and came with butter or olive oil/balsamic. Chicken liver parfait was light really delicious as was the chorizo mushrooms served in a pastry case and the brie with onion mamaralde also in pastry. Slight disappointment was the trout and salad. Too much salad, little fish. Mains of lamb shank, best for ages, ribeye nicely chargrilled with great chips, belly pork which was tender and so rich it could have done with something other than sweetcorn to cut the richness. Followed by piping hot coffeess, we all agreed an historic business lunch. We will use this beautiful setting in future. Overlooking the 'pond ' with beautiful gardens and a sandy beach nearby, recommended.
